Power Generation
Combustion is still the world’s major source of power generation, but the natural fossil fuel resources are limited. Therefore, more efficient and cleaner combustors and power generators are needed.
Due to their non-intrusive nature, laser imaging diagnostics offer unique capabilities for in-situ multi-parameter flow field measurements even in the harsh environment of practical combustion systems, which can not be achieved using conventional, i.e. non-optical probe techniques.
In this respect, laser diagnostics contribute significantly to the reduction of combustion generated pollution, particularly the greenhouse gases CO2, CH4 and H2O.
